CASK 2.3 enables an individual or an ISP to quickly create a community Web site such as a user group site, a developer resource site, or a news site. It has seven standard content modules: Articles, Links, Downloads, Photo Gallery, Events and Books. In addition it supports multiple community configurations, quotas, newsletters, voting polls, RSS news feeds and XML web services. Community (Advanced) Starter Kit 2.0 utilizes advanced features of ASP.NET 2.0.

Note: The CSKInstall application will install and setup a new CASKDB database on your local machine. If your ISP creates the database for you then you can execute the SetupDatabaseSQL script against it and "export" the newly created CASKDB from your Local SQLExpress to your ISP database using SQL Server Management Studio.

2008.09.14 - Updated the SetupDatabase.sql script; realized that if the old script is used and the data is transfered the UpdateModule will never fire and the Stored Procedure that fixes a problem with new registration/profile updates will not be updated.

CASK 3.0 enables an individual or an ISP to quickly create a community, company or organizational web site.

Under the hood 3.0 will undergo an overhaul

+ The data access layer will be replaced with the Entity Framework.
+ The business logic layer will utilize LINQ.
+ A "plug-in" module interface will be introduced to isolate developers from the complexity of the system
+ A WPF Application based on the Managed Extensibility Framework (http://www.CodePlex.com/MEF) will be introduced - it will be a desktop administration manager for the CASK website.

With the above completed
+ Scott Guthrie's MVC ASP.NET application will be used to replace the current infrastructure.
